Project Camellia Fact Sheet

Project Camellia is a long-term AI infrastructure project that OpenAI is designing and developing in Effingham County.

OpenAI is contracting with Georgia Power for 3.2 gigawatts of power, expected to be delivered in phases between 2028 and 2032.

OpenAI will pay the full costs for the energy required to serve the project, minimize ongoing water use through closed-loop cooling, create jobs and opportunities for local businesses, engage directly with residents, and report publicly through an annual independent audit.

We intend to do that work with local communities, utilities, government, workforce organizations, and our infrastructure and financing partners.
